Our tips will help you avoid being deceived by an unscrupulous boss. Read them and make sure you're doing everything right. Remember that too good working conditions, big promises and excessive kindness from strangers are a reason to be wary. Also pay attention to whether your rights as an employee are respected
1.🔎 Look for a job in trusted sources. Scammers often approach visitors of the Unified Migration Center, the Federal Migration Service, and mosques with a job offer. They can come up just on the street. They offer jobs for good money, excellent conditions and help with registration and housing search, but in fact all this turns out to be a deception – the victim works for free or is in debt. Use popular job search sites, for example hh.ru . This way you will increase your security.
2. 💰 The more they offer, the greater the risk. Sometimes an organization or a person offers to pay for your travel to your place of work, accommodation and meals on the condition that you then give money from your future salary or reimburse expenses with labor. Don't agree! This is also a deception and an excuse to keep you in debt. In the future, speaking of debt, you may be threatened, intimidated, and even subjected to violent actions.
3. 💸 Don't pay anything. If you are told that you need to pay for something in order to get a job, do not pay and do not get hired for such a job. Most likely, the scammers will disappear immediately after receiving the money. Remember that at work, first of all, you should be paid!
4.☝️Take a look at the blacklists. As soon as you are invited to an interview, type "Black lists of employers" in the search engine, then open the site from the selection and enter the name of the inviting organization. Study what former or current employees write. Do not go to work if one of them has been grossly deceived. You can find information about employers 👉 HERE, you can read reviews of former employees 👉 HERE, or find them on the Internet yourself.
5. 📑 Sign a contract. If you have agreed with the employer on the terms of work and salary in words, do not start it without a contract. The contract is the basis for further conflict resolution or going to court in case of violation of your rights. It should contain the responsibilities, terms of cooperation and details of the parties. It must be drawn up in two copies: one for you, the other for the employer. Make sure that there are signatures (yours and the organization's) on both copies – only then will the contract have legal force. Without signatures, it will be difficult to prove that you are related to the work, and you are owed money or, in some cases, compensation.
6. 🪪 Do not hand over your passport. Your passport certifies your identity and must always remain with you. Without a passport, there may be problems with the police, and you will not be able to return home quickly. Never leave the original documents to the employer. The only exception is the original work record, if it is paper. In this case, it is filled out and stored in the organization until your dismissal. If other documents are required of you, provide photocopies or electronic versions of them.
7.👨💻 Talk to your new colleagues. When you start working in a new place, ask other employees if there is any deception on the part of superiors: absence or delay of payments, unpaid overtime, refusal of leave. If this happens, consider finding a new job. There is a high probability that you may be treated the same way.
8.❗️Do not disappear. If your colleagues have been deceived and there is a risk that you will also be left without money, do not leave your job without warning. If you do not show up for a shift or at the office, the bosses may get angry and not pay, even if it is illegal. Come to work on the next working day and try to calmly ask your boss questions about payments, discuss the timing of your possible departure. This way you will have a small chance to save your money or better understand the situation in order to make the right decision about future actions.
SalamPay wishes you a successful job search!
