An electronic work record book (EHR) is a digital version of a paper work record book that contains all information about your professional activity and is stored in the secure databases of the Social Fund of Russia (SFR). For migrants officially working in Russia, this document is especially important—it confirms legal work history and may be required in various situations.
Why You Might Need an Extract from an EHR
An extract from an electronic work record book is an official document you might need in the following cases:
– When applying for a new job to confirm work experience
– To apply for a visa at visa centers and consulates
– When applying for a loan or mortgage at a bank
– To apply for benefits and receive assistance from social protection authorities
– When entering an educational institution
– In court proceedings to confirm place of work and work history
What Types of Extracts Exist and Where to Get Them

How to get:
– Submit an application in free form to the human resources department
– The employer is obliged to issue the certificate within 3 business days

Important: The STD-R certificate is issued only to those who do not have a paper work record book (those who switched to EHR or were first employed after January 1, 2021)

3. At SFR or MFC Offices
What you get: Paper STD-SFR certificate
How to get:
– Visit an SFR or MFC office with your passport
– At the SFR, the extract will be issued on the day of request
– At the MFC, the processing time is up to 3 business days
What Migrants Should Know About the Electronic Work Record Book
– EHRs exist for all officially employed individuals. Employers are required to submit data about all employees to the SFR
– If you worked before 2021, you might have both a paper and an electronic record book. If you did not switch to EHR, you have two versions of the document
– If you were first employed after January 1, 2021, you only have an electronic work record book
– An extract from the EHR can be obtained free of charge by any of the listed methods
What to Do If Errors Are Found in the EHR
If inaccuracies are found or data is missing in your electronic work record book:
– Contact your employer with a correction request
– The employer is obliged to correct the data and submit clarifications to the SFR
If the error concerns the period before 2020, corrections are made through the SFR or MFC upon your request
