Notification of Employment: Why is it so important?
If you've obtained a patent to work in Russia, you must submit a notification of employment within 2 months from the date of its issuance. This isn't just a formality but a mandatory requirement. At the Ministry of Internal Affairs office: You can visit the territorial office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in person.
Via Russian Post: If more convenient, you can send the notification by registered mail.
How to submit the notification through Gosuslugi?
- Submitting the notification through the Gosuslugi portal is convenient and saves time. Here's a step-by-step guide:
- Access the service: Open the Gosuslugi portal and find the relevant service. You'll need a verified foreigner account. If you don't have one, be sure to create it – it's very useful for many government services.
- Verify your data: The system will automatically populate some of your information. Check it carefully for errors.
- Provide required information: You'll need to enter details from the following documents:
- Identity document (e.g., passport)
- Your patent
- Information about your employer
- Details of your employment or civil contract
- Details of your voluntary health insurance (VHI), compulsory health insurance (CHI), or contract for paid medical services. Having health insurance is your protection and guarantee of medical care.
- Upload your contract: If your employment or civil contract is in written form, you'll need to upload a photo or scan.
- Select the Ministry of Internal Affairs office and submit: Choose the same office where you received your patent and click "Submit notification."
What happens next?
The Ministry of Internal Affairs will review your notification and within 1 business day send the results to your personal account on Gosuslugi.
What to do if your notification is rejected?
Don't panic! If rejected, the authorities will specify the reasons. Read them carefully, correct all deficiencies, and submit a new notification. The main thing is not to delay!
