If you have signed a rental agreement through the Gosuslugi portal, you have a great opportunity to complete your temporary registration in a simplified way. This saves you a lot of time and effort. The main condition is that the property owner must give their consent to your registration when the rental agreement is signed.
How Does It Work?
Once the property owner signs the rental agreement, you can immediately start the process of obtaining temporary registration. If you don’t do it right away, don’t worry — a draft of your application will be saved in the “Services” section of the Gosuslugi app, and you can return to it at any convenient time.
The duration of your temporary registration will match the term of your rental agreement.
Steps to Register Temporary Residence via Gosuslugi:
Start with the app: After signing the rental agreement, open the Gosuslugi app and select the “Temporary Registration” option.
Fill in the details:
- Provide your email address if required.
- Enter your citizenship and place of birth.
- Choose the MVD (Ministry of Internal Affairs) office: The system will prompt you to select the nearest MVD office.
- Submit your application: After completing all required fields, send your application.
What Happens Next?
Your registration certificate will be available in your personal Gosuslugi account within 6 working days. If you need a paper copy, you can pick it up at the MVD office you selected.
Where Else Can You Register Temporary Residence?
Besides Gosuslugi, there are other ways to register temporary residence that may be useful in different situations.
For the tenant themselves (you):
- At the MVD office.
- At the MFC (Multifunctional Center) office.
For tenants registering children under 14 and children aged 14 to 18 (with their consent):
- Via Gosuslugi.

Important: The property owner’s consent is NOT required for registering children in this case!
For children aged 14 to 18 (independently):
- Via Gosuslugi.
- At the MVD office.
- At the MFC office.
Here too, the property owner’s consent is not needed.
For other residents (e.g., relatives or friends):
- Via Gosuslugi.
- At the MVD office.
- At the MFC office.
In this case, the property owner’s consent is required for temporary registration.
