What exactly does the system check?

The system checks your documents for compliance with migration legislation using government authority databases.

How often does the system check the databases?

After you complete your profile, the Migrant ID system will automatically check your documents for compliance with migration legislation every 6 hours. If any violations are detected, the system will notify you immediately. You can also manually initiate a status check at any time, but no more than once every 2 hours.

How to activate Migrant ID?

Download the SalamPay app.
Go to the «Control» section.
Review the information on the screen and tap the «Start» button.
On the next screen, read the instructions and tap «Continue».
If you are not yet registered in SalamPay, enter your phone number. You will receive an SMS with a code — enter it in the app.
Enter your passport details.
Check that the information is correct, tick the checkbox, and tap «Next».
The database check will begin. This will take a few seconds. When the «View Results» button appears, tap it.
If everything is in order, you will see a positive result and data confirmation.
If violations are found, a notification will appear. To see the details, tap «Find Out the Reason».

What is the Controlled Persons Registry?

The Controlled Persons Registry is a police database that includes foreign citizens (labor migrants) who have issues with their documents (for example, a canceled work permit or an expired migration card).

What does the «Legal» status mean?

The «Legal» status means that your documents are in order and no restrictions on your stay in Russia have been identified (provided that your profile data is entered correctly).

What does the «Illegal» status mean?

The «Illegal» status means that there are restrictions on your stay in Russia.

Will I see if I have any violations?

Yes, you will see information about violations in the app and also receive a PUSH notification. To learn more, tap the «Find Out the Reason» button.

Can I check the documents of a friend, spouse, or relative?

To check the documents of a friend, spouse, or relative, he or she must install the SalamPay app, go to the «Control» section, and complete registration in Migrant ID. After that, he or she will be able to check the legality of their status in Russia.

The app shows that I have a violation. What should I do?

Go to the «Control» section and tap the «Find Out the Reason» button. You will be redirected to a chat with specialized support staff who will help you understand and resolve the situation.
