Many migrants are confident that their documents are in order — until an inspection takes place. In practice, problems often arise because of small issues: expired registration, an unpaid patent, or an error in the database.
Below is a short checklist that should be reviewed regularly:
1. Passport
The document must be valid and undamaged.
2. Migration card
Check whether the purpose of entry is indicated correctly — for example, “work.”
3. Registration (migration registration)
Your registration must not be expired. It is also important to live at the address where you are registered.
4. Patent
Check:
- whether it is valid;
- whether it has been paid on time;
- whether your full name is written correctly;
- whether the work region matches the region specified in the patent.
5. Employment contract
Your work must be official. It is better to keep a copy of the contract with you.
6. Employment notification
The employer is required to submit it to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Without it, problems may arise even if you have a valid patent.
Why is it important to check your status?
Sometimes a person is sure that everything has been completed correctly, but the RKL database already contains a violation:
- expired documents;
- errors in personal data;
- migration registration issues;
- restrictions on staying in Russia.
The sooner this is discovered, the easier it is to solve the problem. Through the Migrant ID service in the SalamPay app, you can check your status in the RKL database and find out whether there are any violations of Russian migration law.
This helps you identify possible issues in advance and avoid unpleasant situations during inspections.
