If your full name, passport details, or profession change while your work patent is valid, this information must also be updated in the patent.
You must submit an application within 7 working days after the information changes or after entering Russia if the changes occurred while you were abroad.
You can do this:
- through Gosuslugi;
- in person at a Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) office;
- at a migration center.

How to Update Your Patent Through Gosuslugi:
1. Open the relevant service and select “Make Changes to a Work Patent.”
2. Specify what has changed: your full name, passport details, or profession.
3. Enter your personal information, passport details, and patent details.
4. Provide the new information that needs to be added.
5. Upload photos or scans of your passport and its notarized translation into Russian.
6. Submit the application for review.
Once your application has been reviewed, you will receive a notification in your personal account with instructions for paying the state fee. After making the payment, wait for an invitation to visit the MIA. It should appear in your personal account within 5 working days.
Bring your passport or another identity document to the appointment, along with its notarized Russian translation.
After your documents have been checked, you will receive a patent with the updated information.
What If You Need to Change the Region Where You Work?
You cannot simply add a new region to your existing patent. If you want to work in another region of the Russian Federation, you must apply for a new patent that allows you to work in that region.
Do not delay updating your patent. If the information in your patent does not match the information in your other documents, this may cause problems when applying for a job or during document checks.
